Mr Anton Bush joined us from another International school in Malaysia, where he was the IGCSE coordinator and pupil profile leader. A maths teacher, head of department and leader with over 20 years of experience, Anton has a particular specialism in pure maths and mechanics.
He is keen to emphasise the real world application of mathematics both in lessons, and in CCA activities. After gaining a degree in electronic engineering from the University of York, he worked as a telecommunications research engineer and contributed to many international projects, gaining patents for a number of inventions. He uses these experiences to encourage pupils to be curious about the underlying maths in the world around them, and the confidence to question how things work, and how they might be improved. He is a keen guitarist and (very) amateur luthier, and he keeps fit by cycling and taking country walks whenever possible. |
