Mrs Emma-Marie Horridge completed her undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the University of Cambridge, UK. She then taught for several years in English Preparatory Schools before moving internationally with Brighton College, first in the United Arab Emirates and more recently in Thailand. Following this, she moved to Malaysia as the founding Head of Junior School at Stonyhurst International School Penang.
Emma is particularly passionate about leading professional development. She planned and organised the FOBISIA teaching conference for over 50 schools across Asia in 2021 and has spoken at numerous events such as the UAE University Innovation Series, GESS Educational Conference Dubai, and the International Schools Association of Thailand Webinars 2020. She was pleased to drive Stonyhurst International School Penang’s membership to FOBISIA forward and was delighted when the school won its first events in the organisation’s 2024 photography competitions. Emma’s own education in Catholic schools instilled a strong belief in the importance of a values-based education. The strong ethos of Stonyhurst originally drew her to the position, and she is passionate about embedding the Jesuit Pupil Profile and developing Men and Women for Others. She has been most proud of establishing strong traditions in the Junior School, such as awarding Mojo in the class of the week. She is excited about being more involved in the Senior School as part of her new role as Deputy Principal. |
