Freddie Singleton is a dedicated and enthusiastic primary school teacher committed to make learning engaging and meaningful for every child. He holds a PGCE from the University of Cambridge, Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology, and a Master of Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management.
Freddie began his teaching career in Early Years education and has since worked with non-governmental organisations and in teaching English as an Additional Language, giving him a broad and inclusive perspective. Most recently, he taught in a bilingual primary school, delivering the curriculum in both English and Spanish to a diverse, multilingual group of pupils.
At the heart of his teaching philosophy is the primacy of oracy—the ability to communicate clearly and confidently. He believes that both strong speaking and listening skills are essential for academic success as well as emotional and social development, where he fosters a classroom environment rich in dialogue to build confidence and independence.
Beyond the classroom, Freddie enjoys videography, reading, sport, and exploring history. He has also lived and worked in many countries, including Denmark, Spain, and Colombia, experiences that have shaped his global outlook. He is excited to begin living in Penang, Malaysia to immerse himself in the local culture and community.
