Rhys Jones studied politics and conflict studies at Queen’s University in Belfast. He previously worked in Laos for five years before joining Stonyhurst International School, Penang. It was in Laos where he developed his love for teaching Swimming and Physical Education, helping children realise their potential through sports. Rhys believes physical activity is important for the development of all pupils, helping each pupil become a curious and active participant of sport.
Rhys particularly enjoys preparing pupils for international competition, understanding the importance this experience provides each pupil. Developing ‘men and women for others’ who can be successful in life. Rhys is looking forward to continuing in his role next year.
As a Penangite, Rhys enjoys all the island has to offer including an array of water sports and delicious food. He is a passionate Muay Thai practitioner who has been able to continue his training in Penang.
