Ms Phan earned her Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2017 and has eight years of experience as a preschool teacher, primarily working with children aged 3 to 5 in play-based learning environments. She began her journey at 18, assisting in children’s programmes and camps through her church, where she also worked with children aged 5 to 9 and participated in outreach to Orang Asli communities. These experiences shaped her passion for nurturing children and creating supportive learning environments.
In her teaching, she focuses on helping young learners build strong foundations in learning while keeping lessons engaging and accessible. She values positive relationships with children and believes that when they feel respected and understood, they are more confident and motivated to learn.
Outside of the classroom, Gillian enjoys both quiet pastimes such as reading and baking, as well as active pursuits like playing squash and exploring new places. This balance of creativity and energy often inspires her teaching, bringing both warmth and variety to her lessons.
