Mrs Laura Simpson graduated with a BA in Child and Youth Studies before completing her PGDE at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Prior to this, Laura worked across both private and state Early Years settings within Aberdeen City for over a decade as qualified Early Years Practitioner, where she developed her strong understanding of early learning experiences and holistic child development.
After completing her PGDE, Laura taught Year 1 where she focused on utilising her knowledge of play pedagogy to deliver engaging and active lessons across the curriculum. She was attracted to Stonyhurst due to the school’s focus on embracing each learner as an individual and commitment to developing values such as gratitude and compassion, as these align intrinsically with her teaching philosophy. Laura is committed to providing a nurturing environment which fosters a love for learning and where every child can thrive.
Laura is joined in Penang by her Husband and two children, who are looking forward to joining Stonyhurst as pupils. As a family, they are excited to spend time exploring this new region of the world together and immersing themselves in a new culture.
