Ms Shurutishria is a passionate educator with a deep love for science and education. She holds a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia and has dedicated herself to nurturing young minds in the subjects of Science and Mathematics. Shurutishria’s teaching journey has led her to an international school in Selangor (Malaysia), where she had the privilege of guiding and inspiring pupils on their educational paths by teaching IGCSE Chemistry and Additional Mathematics. She was also involved with Universiti Putra Malaysia in the capacity of a chemistry lecturer cum researcher. She has several years of experience teaching A-Level and IB Chemistry, equipping pupils with the necessary knowledge and skills for their academic and professional futures.
During her Master’s research, Shurutishria synthesised several novel anti-cancer drugs with the potential for further development and published several research papers. She has also pursued an internship in Japan to investigate the dioxin levels in air content in Malaysia and Japan. Her teaching philosophy emphasises fostering a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to explore and question, aiming to instil lifelong learning skills.
She is committed to the academic and personal development of each pupil, and she strives to create a classroom environment where every learner feels inspired and supported. She believes that education is not just about mastering content, but about exploring the world with open minds, embracing diverse perspectives, and nurturing a lifelong love for learning.
