On Saturday 7th December, Upper Elements (Year 6) took part in this year’s St Mary’s Hall Christmas production of ‘Elf the Musical’ to a joyous crowd in the Centenaries Theatre.
The musical script was quite different from the screen play, featuring Will Ferrell, however it better suited our pupils as it showcased their combined skills of singing, dancing and acting. The music was truly festive and upbeat, with our pupils performing their hearts out and really putting the audience into the Christmas spirit!
Rehearsals of this year’s Christmas production involved many laughs and the children thoroughly enjoyed the process as much as the staff. As always, the pupils’ sheer energy and dedication amazed parents and staff, exceeding all expectations and doing the school proud.
A big ‘thank you’ from the Director and Choreographer Miss K Hodgkinson: “Thank you to my family for your unwavering support and especially to my Mother, Jennifer Hodkinson. Thank you to all those who have kindly donated raffle prizes: we have some wonderful prizes and are eternally grateful for your generosity. Productions at this school could not take place without the support and commitment of so many people. We are incredibly lucky to have an outstanding cast, brilliant staff and professional musicians all reinforced by extremely supportive parents to make this production a real team effort. From the bottom of our hearts…again, thank you!”.
Well done to all and Merry Christmas!
