The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Scholarship
The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Scholarship is an internal award granted by the School that celebrates exceptional academic distinction in the IGCSE examinations and supports Stonyhurst pupils as they progress into Sixth Form.
Up to three scholarships are awarded annually across the year group to three pupils from Stonyhurst International School Penang who demonstrate outstanding attainment and a readiness for the academic rigour of A Levels. This scholarship is open exclusively to current Stonyhurst pupils who are continuing into Sixth Form and is announced in the first weeks of the Michaelmas Term (the new academic year) following the release of IGCSE results.
The scholarship is tenable for two academic years (Years 12–13) and is reviewed after AS Level.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a current Year 11 (Syntax) pupil at Stonyhurst International School Penang;
- Intend to pursue the Sixth Form programme at Stonyhurst Penang; and
- Not have submitted a notice of withdrawal.

Note:
- No application form is required for this scholarship, as it is an internal award.
- Awards are announced early in the Michaelmas Term (August).
Scholars are expected to:
- Maintain strong academic progress throughout the A Level programme;
- Participate fully in academic, service, and leadership opportunities;
- Engage in super-curricular enrichment;
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to pursuing university or higher education;
- Uphold Stonyhurst’s values of excellence, humility, and service;
- Meet termly with the Head of Academic Scholars for guidance and mentorship; and
- Consent to, and participate in, school communications and promotional activities, including marketing and social media.
Scholarships are reviewed regularly and may be withdrawn should a scholar’s academic performance or conduct fall below the required standard.
