Ms Rimington graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching. She has taught across four different continents before coming to Stonyhurst Penang.
Her experiences teaching GCSE English in London for five years gave her the foundation to continue her teaching journey by returning to New Zealand to teach NCEA English (National Certificate of Educational Achievement Levels 1-3) while also supporting more than 400 international students both pastorally and academically as International Dean.
Ms Rimington decided to make the move into International Education, moving to Cairo where she taught both IGCSE and IBDP (Literature) at a large International School. Following this she took up the mantle as Head of English (incorporating the Languages Department) at a British International School in Hanoi, where she taught IBDP English Language and Literature as well as IBDP Theory of Knowledge.
She began teaching at Stonyhurst Penang in August 2024 drawn by the school’s ethos and the learning principles of compassion and consideration of each student as an individual.
