Marie is originally from Brittany in the North west of France and moved to Scotland in 2004 where she qualified and received her PGDE French and Spanish from the University of Glasgow in 2007. As a Modern Languages and EAL teacher, Marie has extensive experience in the classroom in both state and international schools, in Junior and Senior schools.
She has taught French and Spanish in several schools around Edinburgh in Scotland and has a deep knowledge of the British curriculum and the International Curriculum and qualifications. With 18 years of teaching practice, Marie is extremely thrilled to be part of the founding team at Stonyhurst International School Penang, teaching in a warm and thriving multi-cultural community. Marie has taken great pleasure in helping to establish the new EAL Department at Stonyhurst and is now returning to her great passion, the teaching of French. She believes strongly in the power of languages to bring people together. For Marie, learning languages is key to developing the pupils’ enthusiasm to explore and understand different cultures. She is looking forward to meeting all her pupils and to seeing them grow and develop within their school community of Stonyhurst International School Penang and beyond. Outside of school she enjoys travelling, cooking and music. She enjoys spending time with friends and exploring what Penang has to offer with her husband Roger, her daughter Sacha and the new family addition, Batu the sausage dog. |
